Recently, the "Love Song Tibetan Village · Food Exploration Green Land" research and practice team from the College of Food Science and Technology of Northwest A&F University went deep into the Kangding and Danba areas of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, to carry out research and practice on ecological civilization construction. They deeply combined the characteristics of the food science major with ecological protection to promote the sustainable development of the Tibetan region.
In practice, the team members focused on the "ecology-food" linkage, conducting water and soil sampling and testing in typical areas of Kangding and Danba. They focused on analyzing the environmental factors that affect the quality of characteristic ingredients such as highland barley and yak meat, accumulating data for the construction of a traceability system for plateau food. Through ecological diversity research, record the rare animal and plant resources in the Tibetan region and explore the possible application of them in the research and development of natural food additives and functional foods.
The team distributed environmental protection questionnaires to local residents and tourists, and based on the research results, compiled the "Environmental Protection Guide for Plateau Food" to popularize the knowledge related to food preservation and ecological protection. In addition, the practice team visited the Memorial Hall of the Capture of Luding Bridge, and under the inspiration of the red spirit, they strengthened their sense of mission to serve the professional ecosystem.
This practice, with the food specialty as the link, has built a bridge between ecological protection and industrial development, providing practical references for the upgrading of the green food industry in the Tibetan areas.
